Since joining J-STAR as a founding member in 2006, Tatsuya Yumoto has been involved in origination, execution, monitoring, and exiting. He took part in the establishment of J-STAR in February 2006. He made investments in 15 companies mainly in the IT and service sectors, including caname (operating personal training gyms), J Step Holdings (Scaffolding management), Miraie (IT consultanting), N Holdings (IT services), paiza (IT education), Mattrz (web services and Saas), ITTY (D2C of health and beauty-related products), Section Eight (marriage agency), Sunsmile (planning and sale of make-up and beauty articles), ASIRO (legal media, TSE Mothers 7378), NHS Insurance Group (insurance agency), Japan Hospice Holdings (hospice services, TSE Mothers 7061), Tokai Trim (automotive seat manufacturing), Apo Plus Station (sales and marketing support to pharmaceutical companies), Tokachi (current Matsuzawa, production and sale of Japanese confectionery), and executed seven successful exits, including 2 companies that completed IPO. Through his experience in both buyout and venture capital investments, he can provide solutions within a controlled risk range even for new and challenging issues and find new areas for private equity fund activities. Before the establishment of J-STAR, he worked on buyout investments in medical and related areas for companies such as Showa Yakuhin Kako and Medical Tribune, and on venture capital investments in 11 companies in the IT and service sectors at JAFCO (current JAFCO Group). He received a bachelor’s degree from Hitotsubashi University.
