Kenichi Harada

Since joining J-STAR as a founding member in 2006, He has been involved in origination, execution, monitoring, and exiting. He is also involved in corporate activities as well as fund raising.
His supervising investments include Japan Waste, RENATUS, Dainichi, WEGO, Honest, Yokoi Manufacturing, Harita Metal, JC International Trade, Kugami Seiki, Primagest, Three Arrows, HCM, Olive des Olive, Tokachi, and Kazetodaichi.
Before joining J-STAR, he worked at JAFCO where he was involved in the supervision of the privatization of Tocalo Co., Ltd. (3433 JT) through TOB. The company was re-listed after an MBO (achieving a six-fold return on investment). He also oversaw investments of BancTec Japan and Watami no Kaigo Co., Ltd., while contributing to investment and exit strategies as a member of the buyout investment committee. At JAFCO, he gained experience in venture capital investments for 15 companies in the manufacturing and logistics retail industry, with 4 of those companies being IPO.
He received a bachelor’s degree from Tsukuba University. He is a Chartered Member of the Securities Analysts Association of Japan (CMA).
